Take Two Interactive Unveils Bioshock 2 Multiplayer at E3 Expo

Upstairs in a private room, away from the spectacle that is the E3 Expo floor convention, Take Two Interactive privately showed us Bioshock 2 Multiplayer.

The original and highly acclaimed Bioshock did not have a multiplayer experience, which analysts suggest limited sales despite the rave reviews.  But hold onto your hats.  Not only does the single player experience look just as amazing as the original, the multiplayer experience appears to take this franchise to a whole new level.

Multiplayer gamers are now the enemy "splicers" in this new offering, attacking each other with everything the world of Rapture has to offer.  Up to ten can battle each other in the amazing looking Bioshock underwater atmosphere, where they can hack turets and robots to attack their enemies or use the various new and well known weapons of the Bioshock world.

Take Two Interactive outsourced the work to Digital Extremes, the developers of Unreal and Unreal tournament.  It looks like that was a good idea, because the multiplayer game appears to double the offering for the consumer, now offering a highly unique multiplayer experience that has its own in-depth story and completely different feel.  Menawhile, the single player experience, just like the first, appears to be another high quality game experience that will knock out reviewers and fans.

In short, the Bioshock 2 multiplayer level that was shown to us was fast, polished and exciting.  Take Two may have a major success on their hands come October, as they put forward a rare title that offers both an exceptional single player and multiplayer experience.
