Because of the missing firewire port on the new macbooks (released earlier this week at the special notebook event)., users may have difficulties migrating data to their new laptops.So Apple released new software updates for Migration Software and DVD/CD Sharing that new owners of the macbook and macbook pro can use for migrating data.

According to Apple, the update provides enhanced customization capabilities and improved performance for migration over FireWire, Ethernet and wireless networks. This should help those users that were having difficulties migrating data to the new MacBook, which doesn't have FireWire.
