G5 (next gen wireless tachnology) is slated to start deploying across the globe.  The specifications are being drawn as we speak.  It will take wireless to the multiple Gigabit level, it will be ready for IoT (Internet of Things), and should compete quite well with wireline speeds.  It does not however replace long haul optical trunks. In the not so distant future just about every device will be connected, much of which will be via wireless, specially in developing countries where Optical Infrastructure may be lacking, count Africa, China and India among big growing areas that will make heavy use of this next generation.IMO, the combined NOK-ALU will be well position from this massive upgrade cycle, with a reduced number of vendors and no sick companies bidding too low, margins will be great for current equipment sales, and more so for next gen equipment.  This merger will go a long way in fixing what has troubled the industry and should go a long way in restoring growth.
