OT - NOK

OT - NOK

OK, I'm almost completely
puzzled by NOK's price action: It's showing as up 9 cents to $5.41,
and although the low was $5.32, I must've missed it if it finished
there yesterday. Is it because of what they're paying out to get
the 95% ownership of Alcatel-Lucent? Is it because today is
ex-dividend (although a story I read said that they're also
declaring another dividend of...10 cents I think, but that ex-civ
date will be later in June.) They purchased a DAA company (can't
recall the name) that just sounds like good news in terms of
expanding their portfolio of products. I'd be tempted to buy here,
if I knew what was going on. The outlay of $985m for the shares
alone (plus another large amount for the bonds) to reach 95% has no
negative conotations in the stories I've read. Anyone know what the
deal is?

It is because today is ex-dividend date, the closing
price yesterday or opening share price today was adjusted downward
due to the dividend. Therefore it is up 10 cents from that adjusted
price. Because the dividend is not actually credited to your
account until July 5th, there is a "time gap" before one is made
whole (minus the Finish tax of course)
