OT - ERIC - You go guy! Kick those bums to the curb. On the
downside, I really can't think of sanctions/fines that really
impacted a company. There must've been some at some time, but none
come to mind - no one went to jail for the bank meltdown, banks
like Sachs got fined - but the fines almost always seem less
than the company made by acting heinously. The biggest payout I can
recall is the deal Steve Cohn made with the SEC to pay $1bln+ to
keep the 'insider info and trading' humongous scandal from having
him indicted and sending him to jail. At the time, he put out an
announcement that it will have 'zero substantial effect' on the
hedge fund's operation.
And within the last year, I recall ATT getting fined for
advertising unlimited data plans, but throttling customers down to
2G networks after they passed a given threshold of use without any
notice to them. The $100mln fine was probably about as powerful as
a raindrop in its effect. (The ruling the other day being
positive for net neutrality I think affects us - better bandwidth
flow, I'd think, if there are no 'fast' and 'slow' data
'lanes'.)
Ah, if only Bernie had won - he really was ready to address the
concerns we've often spoken about here. And more galling that
Hilary (Guilty - until proven honest) Clinton will be the next
president. Having Bozo as your opponent is helpful at keeping
people from focusing on how many times you've lied or flip-flopped.
I keep thinking about making a bumper sticker with her picture that
says, "Let's put lipstick on this pig" - but having my windows
trashed for being so out of whack with political correctness
probably isn't worth it.
Okay, back to business. INFN is in, or heading, towards
territory where I have to think about buy more, even though my
plate is full. As it heads towards where mgmt. bought naked shares
on the market, it's hard for me to believe these people are fools,
regardless that the last CC was not their best performance in
handling quetions. Low today was $12.10 - and each day it keeps
making new lows. Last CC was late April, so ate July or so should
be the next one. Selling covered calls for July expy stk $12
doesn't get you all that much, but it protects you down to around
$11.70, given the current price of around $12.20, if I'm
calculating this right.
