I am ticked off
...
I am ticked off that NOK could not wait one extra day to
announce the expanded deal with Samsung and with it the increased
revenue forecast from the Technologies division. My dividend
reinvestment will not benefit from that news, sas I will be
reinvested at a higher share price.

That is unfortunate LT. Maybe the dividend was already
distributed in Europe? And that's where the PR originates I assume.
I doubt they consider the PR timing with dividends. It's probably
something they didn't even think of, and had they distributed on
time or even a few days late, it would have been a non-issue
anyway.

I take solace in my firm conviction that at these prices NOK is
still a bargain given the prospects in the future. I still
expect low teens for this stock over the next 3 to 4 years

lt cap,
Bummer about NOK releasing the dividend and the Samsung news on
the same day. They have really acted obliviously to shareholder's
interests - and especially in the US - the whole idiotic deal where
you sold your old ALU shares for an unwanted profit or loss and
then buying NOK shares really teed me off - and likely everybody. I
hope maybe you were able to catch the brokerage where the dividend
was 'trickling in' and rescind your buy order.
My brokerage's info on NOK (not reliable at all - they suck as a
brokerage) showed the payout date of July 12th. It also showed a
.30 jump in price - which I assued it matched the dividend, which
was .29 cents. Although I thought the dividend hit was on the ex-
date, not the payout date. Then I read the Samsung news.
I understand that buying more NOK with a very sizeable dividend
must feel terrible. But, as you say/imply, your holding are so
large that the .30 goose to existing shares must be sizeable.
I've found holding a stock where a movement of even a few
pennies moves the needle measurably unsettling, making for
manic-depressive mood swings :-) Let's hope NOK has a lot more days
like this. And where we're fully in charge of buying and
selling.

NOK should have all the bad news priced in, unless the
world enters a terrible recession which given how there seems to be
one crisis after another one, it cannot be counted
out, but I digress, NOK should continue to deliver
decent to good news.
Take for example the disappointment of last Feb (I think)
when the arbitration was originally announced, NOK took a beating
because Suri was conservative. Today, he announces that the
Technologies division will indeed produce more revenue. He
always under-promises. I expect him to have under-promised on
gross margins, revenues and synergies. He has some two years
of potential earnings surprises, which can only be derailed if the
global economy tanks.
When 5G begins to ramp, it will be huge from a revenue
perspective. It will be divided by only three players, NOK
stands to make out like a bandit. Keep in mind that 5G will be a
global roll out that will take several years for all telecoms
around the world to deploy.
