OT - INFN

OT - INFN (But you already knew this): Citi downgrades
INFN to Sell with a PT of 8. As usual, I can't cut and paste, but
the mere fact that analysts are willing to cut ratings and PTs at
this low level is worrisome, given the already beaten down price.
It was as low as $8.25 this a.m. They reasons the citi analysts
cite (including lack of visibility until the 2nd half of 2017, lack
of a presence in China and data centers, is what is backing their
skepticism. (I don't understand that at the same time they're
saying there's a lack of presence in China, when either there or
elsewhere it said it is in China. Maybe a misread, not sure about
that.)

One could probably say it really
is overdone at this point, so it's a bargain. My guess is the
street won't look a whole lot more favorable until they can provide
some realiable and solid guidance, and say what kind of pricing
pressure there is, and how that will likely impact profits. The
strategy may be sound to get a foot in the door, but the immediate
effects aren't going to look good, I'd think.

I also read today, in an article dated 8/22, that Needham still
maintained a 'buy' rating, citing its proprietary photonic
products. Not sure if that's currently the case.

It is quite worrisome. It appears as if their Infinity
Engine equipment will not be ready until sometime in 2017, probably
late first half or early second half. Enough customers are
happy to delay purchases until then.
