Samsung's Problems affect Nokia's Technologies division

They would be partially offset by Apple selling more iPhones.  However, it is murky and I am not sure to what extent one could outweigh the other.  Apple is probably in the midst of renegotiating the Patent agreement with Nokia.

Does anyone remember when Samsung's problems begun?  Is it more or less than months?

Samsung's issues with the Note 7 are a couple months old, but now with the total recall, I would say they have continued to grow over that time and are now at their worst.

My own gut feeling is that even though Apple will stand to sell more iPhones and pay Nokia additional royalties, the immediate hit to Nokia will probably not be completely made up by these additional iPhones sales. That said, this is a temporary hit, not a permanent.

I would assume Samsung has simply gone back to the drawing board regarding the battery/charger circuitry etc ... and should have a "new" phone within months, I cannot see them taking longer, they just cannot afford that.
