OT - Samsung et al

OT - Samsung etc.

It seems that returning the suspect Samsung note 7's is more complex than thought - Samsung has designed a 4 layer fireproof box for customers to package returns in. But companies like FedEx absolutely refuse to put any of them in a plane, regardless of what safety measure are taken. Which means they have to go by ground transport. Not quite sure how that works once you reach the Pacific ocean, but it probably adds some more profit loss to Samsung, counted in billions so far.

Verizon, bless their corrupt little hears, is slapping a $20 fee on anyone who upgrades any phone on their network, with only a few exceptions, such as if you bought the phone from Amazon and a small number of other vendors. But that's because they're going to use that to pay for a better infrastructure that offers customers a faster and more reliable network...oh, wait - that's not going to happen until at least 2018. Nevermind.
