TTWO and Red
Dead
TTWO soaring today, after teasing a new Red Dead on their
website and twitter over the weekend. No name or date, just a
teaser image I think. It's unfortunate, I was aware of that over
the weekend and was hoping there might be time to get in before it
hit mainstream news, however the stock opened up 6%-7% so the easy
money has been made.

I've always been a bit puzzled about when Rockstar announces (or
as you said 'hints at') a new game it moves the needle immediately.
Yeah, they have a reputation for the best games out there, but
still. Read today that they just made it official that it'll be out
sometime in 2017, and will set up a website of its own. I never
played the original, so I'm not sure what the excitement is all
about. But one reader of the article commented, "If it's not out
for PC, I'm going to have to buy a console." I guess that explains
it.

They say Fall 2017 for RDR, but who really believes they'll hit
a deadline this time? Perhaps we'll see the usual TTWO cycle: stock
rises on hype, stock mysteriously falls for no reason then days
later TTWO announces earnings miss and game delay while ignoring
comments about insider trading, then stock rises again on hype.
