OT - INTC

OT - INTC - Some bad news. Although INTC beat numbers
for Q3, it gave guidance for Q4 as flat, and below analyst
expectations. So they get whacked for about -6% today. Not great,
but their price has been on a generally upward trend for a while.
Data centers are not performing as well as predicted - single digit
growth so far as opposed to projected double digits. I do wonder
where they are, and what the plans and projections, in what time
frame, their new blazingly fast flash memory that pretty clearly
seems to be the successor to current SSD technology, developed in
tandem with Micron. I *think* (I may be wrong) that it is already
showing up in some of INTC's own brand of slot-memory cards, which
are pricey, but fast. But as I said, I'm unsure if that employs the
new tech, or that is to come. I'd think that the applications,
including data centers and enterprise storage would be a boon to
them, somewhere going forward, as it seems there are no challengers
to this product. Least not yet, and maybe not ever.

Intel has a very long road ahead, now NVDA is grabbing the
autonomous car market. INTC needs a new $7B to $10B market or
many $1B markets, anything short of that and it just will not move
the needle enough, IMO.
I know the PE is below a high market multiple and the Dividend
is nice, but at some point in time all of this will impact it

lt cap,
You know, on NVDA I just want to kick myself. I some time ago I
wondered about them, as their cards are so much better than AMD's,
AMD has just given on competing with them on the high end video
cardd. I saw tham a $22, looked sometime later and they were $47.
Thought about it, but it seemed they might be pricey. Now at $67. I
didn't know they were expanding outside of the videocard market.
Darn.
On INTC, at least for today, they've stablized from yesterday's
hit. I wonder (and it is only that) whether their 'flat' guidance
for Q4 is real, or whether they're setting up a beat. I know
they've got a lot of challenges, and the bar is high. But as you
know, I'm a 'true believer'. Especially hard to let go of because
is supports a pretty high dividend for the sector.
