Chipotle CMG, anyone looking
at it?
Is anyone looking at Chipotle, CMG? They just had a weak
earnings report, same store sales down 22% as it's taking longer
for customers to return after last years health scares than most
thought. Technically it's weak, hitting a new 52-week low and now
$370, and if earnings don't recover quickly then it still looks
expensive. OTOH, it probably will recover, as other chains before
it have, and Bill Ackman took a 9.9% share in the low $400's (not
necessarily a a great thing given his recent track record...), and
they are spending more on stock buybacks. I'm dipping a toe in the
waters here. Has anyone else looked at it?

I just sold that CMG I picked up a week ago. From $368 to $381.
My thinking in that post has not changed, I'm just trimming some
recent pick-ups ahead of election day volatility.

Jester,
I hadn't given much thought about CMG, simply on the basis of
'damage control' (DMG - new stock symbol?) never being a known
course nor success. But it seems you nailed it just right, so
congrats on that And implying that it has more room to run,
IIRC.
I had really meant to buy the market, even before the FBI
declared Clinton 'not guilty', simply on the theme of a 'relief
rally' when she wins. Obviously I'm up too late, as the market is
pricing in her win. Or maybe Wed. there's room for another
'confirmed win' rally. Haven't read the news yet today, but I'm
sure Hilary is now taking the 'high road', forgetting that she was
'fear montering' with ads that predicted a nuclear WWIII if Trump
was elected.
I imagine Trump will 'fun it up' by claiming that the FBI
dropped the case because Hilary wrote them a note saying that she's
too fat to look good in stripes.
Anyway, now, what about my 'pint'?

Your prediction does seem more sound today Jamok. Not just the
FBI cloud, but also that stat about how the direction of Wall St
prior to the election predicts the election outcome. Basically,
market down means more people unhappy means more likely to vote for
the new blood. And it does rather go against Trump's doomsaying
about how everything is awful, when peoples broker accounts and
IRA's jump before the election.
It will be interesting if we ever hear the real details about
what has gone on with this election. I can only imagine the behind
closed doors calls, threats and promises, what with the FBI
investigations, how Republicans claim to have copies of those
emails from an active investigation, Guilani caught implying he had
info from the FBI he shouldn't have then backtracking to cover his
ass, and so on. How many favors have been promised to sweep things
under the rug, or to pull them from the rug? Plus the Wikileaks
mess, who leaked those, etc. I have never seen this much election
tampering before.

Jester,
But I was wrong about Hilary, with the Comey mess behind her, I
thought she'd act presidential today. rather than fear-mongering.
But there she was, trying to whip the crowd into a frenzy with
riffs on, "It's the bogeyman! The BOGEYMAN'S GONNA GETCHA!".
Perhaps she's just worried that if pepole aren't reminded every 5
minutes, they may get lazy and not vote. But it feels more like she
fears that if she untightens her sphincter muscles. just a touch,
all hell will break loose.
And stealing elections isn't something new to American politics,
really. It's just that it used to be a smaller mom-and-pop
business: Had not Democratic city boss Mayor Daley of Chicago
ordered his 'machine' to doctor precinct vote counts towards
Kennedy, Nixon would've been the president in 1960. And
strange to say, the previous president she seems to me to be like
most, in content and paranoid demeanor, is Nixon.

Actually, her commercials all changed yesterday to high road in
Ohio. She talked about the need to come together and build a
community. Trump just continued his crazy reality TV style bashing.
Actually accelerated it. Being in Ohio sucks come election
time.
