OT - market jet
propulsion?

OT - Can someone enlighten me on the 'Trump trade'? The
market just keeps marching north, no matter what kind of disarray
the administration is in. Yes, I know that big infrastructure
expenditures, lower taxes on corps, dismantling of any oversight on
corps, et. al. looks like a business 'goldmine'. But the market is
reacting as though this is 'locked' to be a reality, ignoring how
Trump ping-pongs on all his policy, makes promises one day and
retracts them the next, and so on. He's being treated as a reliable
player which he certainly is not. And there's no guarantee that he
won't be impeached.

Is the idea that even
if he is impeached (it'd be hard to pull off, given that they'd
need Republican votes to do it - and there are plenty of
Republicans that would like to see him gone, but it a tricky act to
perform for them), things will get better with Pence as president,
given that he's on board with the stated (but not yet realized)
policies, and he's not a whack job like Trump.

Is that it? Can we expect DOW 40k? He's already making
world leaders nervous with zig-zag realiability and slight - the
market doesn't discount the possibility of a serious crises he may
create?

There is a method to Trump's madness. His tactics are to be
deliverately unpredictable and to make demands that are much more
than what he really wants to extract from his targets. He
does not care about public opinion, so long as he can demonstrate
in the end that he has won. The truth is often the victim of
his ways.
His base is still quite strong and they do not care about his
means so long as it justifies the end result. He knows this
very well.

Cramer is totally bullish on some of Trump's policies. He
is totally bullish on the market and saying he does not think the
market is overvalued. Seems everyone is, still mekes me worry
when everyone is in the market.
That said, I remeber when Greenspan in 1997 uttered the phrase:
Irrational Exhuberance. Yet the market kept on going for some
2+ years.

lt cap,
Yeah, it's not been since 2000 that I've seen this much
uniformity on the consensus narrative of this market: worst
indictment from heads of investment companies is that yes, the
market may seem rich in valuation, but if you look at forward pe's,
it's not. People apparently have forgotten 2000 dot-com: EMC went
from 102 to around 49. AMD was at 48, and eventually bottomed
around $3. I'm left wondering why Trump's 'intentions' are
trustworthy - he changes hit promises on a dime. Seems that
suddenly the economy is better because Yellen says the economy is
stronger. Is it? Perhaps earnings are bettr than I thought. Perhaps
analysts are recommending buying the future and not the
present.
Near market's close, I bought CIEN and sold 10 covered calls -
figure that if CSCO reports well, the sector will draft higher.
Only got about .97 cents for them. If CSCO doesn't go well, I have
some time to see what CIEN does, ane perhaps buy it back, depending
how it does. The calls are for Mar 10 stk 26. Good luck.
I see Pudzer, another Trump cabinet candidate, just fell out due
to conflicts and who knows what. And the market keeps marching
north.
When (if?) this market does crash, it reminds me of an old joke:
An investor jumps off a 100 story building. As he passes the 50th
floor, a man at the window asks how he's doing. "So far, so
good."

Speaking of market jet propulsion, another 0.5% this morning.
Though to be fair, some of that is from yesterday, when the market
was unable to rise due to not being open. It's amazing that we've
already had a typical years gains and it's not even the end of
February.

I fear we will have a pretty nasty market correction, I would
not be surprised if it is 18% or more.
