OT now or
future?
OT - I'm thinking about CSCO's CC tomorrow. Part of me says buy
it. Even though they'll post a loss, the will say that their forays
into other areas (such as cybersecurity) will offset some of their
older hardware that no one wants now. That seems to be the standard
for the sector: The core businesses are fading in some way, and
they will offset that with other revs (just as INTC has been doing
for some time). The analysts, so far, seem to be buying that
'future revs', rather than the sort term drought.
As I've said, I'd like to own CSCO for the dividend. But I'm not
going to do that before the CC, as I think the current numbers
won't be so good. I may buy CIEN today, as their CC is early march,
and prices here may fall between now and then, and if CSCO is
pretty bad, now would be a good time to acquire stock and sell
covered calls. Just an idea on my part at this time.
